Two Years Of Video Calls, Twenty New Disciples In Pakistan

October 25, 2026•2 min read

Chris has been discipling a family in Pakistan for nearly two years now, mostly over video calls.

Over that time, they've built a thriving disciple-making community of their own.

They've since connected with another group of around twenty believers, and been invited to teach them Discovery Bible Study as a way to start multiplying too.

Asif, the father of that family, wrote his own comment on Chris's post. This is part of what he said.

"I am thankful to Brother Chris for being connected from the last two years. My family is also very much blessed by the spiritual guidance and support to make disciples from the persecuted Christian community in Pakistan."

"Brother Chris has provided prayer support and Bible study to my three young sons and daughters. Now they have been able to train more than 20 young believers from persecuted Christian families. The Discovery Bible Study program among the youth is growing day by day."

Wow!

Chris never had to move to Pakistan. He didn't need a mission agency or a plane ticket.

He built a relationship over a screen with one family, taught them how to run a Discovery Bible Study, and stayed faithful to it for two years.

Now Asif's own children are training twenty more young believers, in a context where following Jesus can cost them everything.

We tend to think multiplication needs scale we don't have access to: a platform, a title, a plane ticket somewhere far away.

Chris just had a phone, two years, and a willingness to keep showing up for one family, without ever needing to get on a plane.

I think there are more of us who could do this than we realise.

Somewhere in the world there's a small group or a single family who would love a Bible study partner over video, someone who'll stay faithful to them for two years and then get out of the way.

Who could you commit two years to, even from a distance, even if you never met them in person?

Let's go make disciples.
